De Djawatan Forest
De Djawatan is a tourist forest located in Benculuk, Cluring, Banyuwangi Regency. The trees in De Djawatan are rain trees filled with epiphytic plants. Visitors often take pictures with the background of these trees.
History
In 2017, this place went viral on social media and was visited by many people, but at that time this place was still a Perhutani wood storage place. After considering the tourism potential of the place, the Banyuwangi Regency Tourism Office together with the Perhutani Banyuwangi Forest Management Unit (KPH) as the land owner officially opened De Djawatan, Flora and Fauna
De Djawatan is dominated by rain trees (Samanea saman) totaling around 805 trees, which are around 100-150 years old (1 ½ centuries) and have grown since the Dutch era. These rain trees are covered with moss, epiphytes, and various ferns along their branches.
